Two new year-round rentals under construction at 217 Main Street
With all nine NHSH rentals occupied, two more units are going up in the village, targeted to open by the end of 2026. The rental waitlist is open and reviewed on a rolling basis.
NHSH currently rents nine year-round homes and apartments to island households. Two more are under construction at 217 Main Street and expected to be available by the end of 2026.
How to get on the list
- One member of the household must have lived on North Haven for a full year (a full academic year counts for school and preschool employees).
- Household income may not exceed 200% of Knox County area median income; units funded by MaineHousing are limited to 120%.
- Applications go in by online form or by mail to P.O. Box 373 and are added to the Master Rental Waitlist in the order received. When a unit opens, NHSH contacts the next eligible applicant.
- Rent increases are capped at 5% a year.
